WCU’s Phi Sigma Pi Schedules Second Annual Benefit Concert For April 9, 2011
Phi Sigma Pi at West Chester University in Pa. has scheduled the 2nd annual Casey Feldman Benefit Concert on Sat. April 9, 2011. from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Sykes Student Union on campus. Featured bands include Ryan Colestock, Do Re Mi Fa Soul and The GoAround. Tickets are $5 at the door and all proceeds will go to NOYS (National Organization for Youth Safety) of which the Foundation has become a national partner. The Casey Feldman Memorial Foundation will match all proceeds raised at the concert. RSVP on Phi Sigma Pi’s Facebook event page or on the Casey Feldman Network.
NOYS is a collaborative network of national organizations and federal agencies that serve youth and focus on youth safety and health. The Casey Feldman Memorial Foundation will be working with NOYS to implement a national program that will help students who have lost a classmate in a traffic accident to take their grief and focus it in a way to promote positive change. Students from across the country will be provided with a tool kit and suggestions for actions that can be taken to use a tragedy as a catalyst for positive change. Voting will take place with the winners receiving cash prizes.
Last year’s concert and safety campaign was a huge success and resulted in Phi Sigma Pi’s President and Casey’s best friend Amber Staska being featured in Seventeen Magazine.
