Phi Sigma Pi Delivers Check to NOYS at the Launching of the Decade of Action for Road Safety in D.C.
The West Chester University chapter of the national honors fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi presented a check in the amount of $3800 to NOYS, the National Organizations for Youth Safety on May 11, 2011 in Washington, D.C. The check delivery coincided with National Youth Safety Month and the launching of the Decade of Action for Road Safety. Phi Sigma Pi raised $1900 in proceeds at the Casey Feldman Memorial Foundation concert on April 9, 2011. The Foundation matched the proceeds raised by the fraternity.
Fraternity brothers Phil Knasiak and Jessica Barr participated in the day’s events with Casey Feldman’s parents, Dianne Anderson and Joel Feldman. It included the launching of the Decade for Road Safety in front of the U.S. Capitol in the morning and a safety expo in the afternoon, followed by a Congressional briefing in the Capitol.
The goal of the Decade of Action for Road Safety is to save 5 million lives and prevent 50 million injuries worldwide over the next 10 years.
